Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Cass County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a query means that you agree to the conditions stated here. If you do not agree, you must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not affiliated with Cass County, the State of Texas, or any government body. Neither the website nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We provide directions to Cass County and Texas criminal-record resources. We are not a private investigative firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Cass County Criminal History is an independent, private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official records, obtain records for users, perform official background checks, or submit documents for anyone.

Its content directs readers to record custodians such as the Cass County Sheriff, local criminal courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Official public access is governed in part by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and criminal-history dissemination by Government Code Chapter 411. The website may also connect readers with outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of use, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Run scrapers, bots, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk a person using information found here
  • Use content for lending, employment, housing, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into the site's systems or restricted areas
  • Interfere with performance or prevent other visitors from accessing the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use this website or a linked tool to harass, intimidate, stalk, threaten, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data requires particular care under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62. It is published for community safety awareness, not vigilante conduct, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Our partners and we do not provide a service intended to evaluate applicants, borrowers, insured persons, or renters. You agree that information from the website or any linked feature will not be used to:

  • Make a hiring or termination choice
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a government program, permit, or license
  • Take any other action governed by the FCRA

A check needed for a legally authorized purpose must be obtained from the Texas Department of Public Safety or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is general information, not legal advice. We cannot assess how a Texas expunction, nondisclosure rule, charge, conviction, or warrant affects a particular person. Seek advice from a Texas-licensed attorney for an individual legal matter.

6. No Warranties

The website and its content are offered "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Pages will remain available without delay or interruption
  • Any information is complete, correct, or current
  • The website contains no bug, error, or security weakness
  • A partner tool will return accurate or comprehensive results

Charges, dispositions, access limits, expunctions, and nondisclosure orders can change what a record shows. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Cass County Sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, courts, state portals, legal-aid resources, advertisers, or outside search providers. Those destinations are outside our control. We do not accept responsibility for their content, availability, data practices, or fees. Review the destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code displayed here are owned by Cass County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, redistributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages resulting from access to or use of the website, including action taken in reliance on site content or an outside service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal proceedings arising from your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, restrict, or end access to the website at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the minimum extent required to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
